Quasi-conductors are believed to be a special class of chemical elements. Scientists got known about such substances in the end of the 19th century, but only in the 20th century scientists managed to get more knowledge about them. The first successful research was performed by the Russian scientists in 1923. They proved that semiconductors may be used to generate fluctuations. There was no possibility to develop some unique devices as igct. First transistor was created in Bell's laboratory in 1949. This event influenced the fast development of semiconductor devices. The intense research of the features of semiconductors was started at the same time.
Many scientists carry out a huge amount of researches simply to gain more knowledge about such characteristic of semiconductors as stimulated radiation. It caused the appearing of semiconductor laser device based on usage of p - n barriers and then on heterojunction.
